Elizabeth Upton is an American Author and an influential writer of fiction and nonfiction spiritual books.

Her best-selling books, “Secrets of a Nun: My Story” and “The Silver Woman of Fire” helped set her firmly on the world’s literary map. With many novels to her credit, she has released a new book in June 2022 titled ‘Lovers’ Secrets and Revenge.’ Elizabeth’s favorite she enjoyed writing is, ‘The Shaman and The Mafia,’ as she shares, “The creation of this story has been an exciting journey. If possible, I would love to meet all of the characters in this book in real life.” Elizabeth’s books and novels are available on Amazon online, Barnes & Noble, and featured on fine literary book sites.

Elizabeth was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA., until the age of sixteen, when she entered a New York State Convent and became a nun for twenty years, but she yearned for a more authentic spiritual life. Elizabeth left the convent and chose to attend and receive her B.A. from Syracuse University.

Moving back to her native state of California, she attended and received her M.A. from Chapman University in psychology. The Author began working for over thirty years in family counseling as a social worker and probation officer working with troubled teens and abused children. She is a speaker, spiritual mentor, and advisor.

Elizabeth is happily married and enjoys writing books for her reader fans around the world. When the Author is not writing, she works out with a personal trainer to stay fit and healthy; she loves spending time on long walks on the beach with her husband and dog. An exceptionally well-written Memoir.

“This Is Me Trying” is not only a well-written book but a poignant read as well. Deep insights into what can happen when a little boy is born into chaos, poverty, trauma, and tragic abuse of several kinds. The author’s subtitle doesn’t even share the tip of the iceberg of what you will read about his early life.

However, I can guarantee by the last page; that you will cheer this young man for overcoming the many obstacles he has had to process and the life he has built for himself while still healing. But, heartbreaking at times, this book is unique, and the courage and bravery it took to share all that he has been through is commendable. Not surprising he has no ties with his biological parents or siblings.

As you read, that would only bring him more chaos with more discrimination. So does that come from possible envy or jealousy from his biological family, and due to the fact the author has been so successful in reshaping a more healthy, emotional, and stable life today? One part I thought was humorous was when he shared about his teens and throwing a desk or chair out a classroom window became his “signature move.”

Sadly, he did because of not learning yet to process the emotions and trauma of now being bounced around in the foster care system after being taken from his biological family’s home, finally. The last 40% of the book shares how and continues his healing process even today. All in all, this is a vital memoir everyone should read.

Patricia has been speaking and communicating with animals since she was a child. Born and raised in Southern California, Patricia attended college and majored in business then began working in the field of interior design. His first novel about crime and childhood bullying, titled “Selo,” was awarded first place in teen literature from ‘The Global E-book Awards.’ When the author is not writing, he runs his business as a personal fitness trainer and enjoys training clients for better health and wellness as we age.

Doug enjoys traveling the west coast and resides in the Vancouver, BC area of Canada.

Diane’s books to this series can be read as stand-alone’s, or for a richer reading experience, you can read them in consecutive order. Either way, readers are going to love reading this series. Even though the series is fictional, Diane adds so many real facts and real information from her research to each book. And many different topics and elements like comparisons of world religions, how all humanity is connected, the hope of mankind, elements of archeology and paleontology, extinct beings and animals, and so much more! Book Review By Reader’s Favorite of Rising Wind and Book Three:

The Weeping God and the Book of Hope, part three in the Rising Wind series, is actually a prequel to the first two books, so it’s not necessary to have read those first.

The lead characters, Sage Dalton and L.W. are the main character’s parents in the other Rising Wind books. Although the characters are different and it is set in an earlier time period, the tone of the book is very similar. This time they discover an ancient text in a Mexican desert tomb that leads Sage, L.W., and a group of fellow explorers to Tibet, where they find themselves in the middle of a war. Even with danger at every turn, they still manage to discover secret caves that lead them toward an elusive yet powerful Book of Hope.

First and foremost, her books have a superb cast of characters that readers can easily relate to. They care about each other, work together to achieve a common goal, laugh together, and cry together. Second, her stories revolve around rare ancient discoveries found all around the world. Much like the great Indiana Jones films, each new discovery comes with an element of danger.

The third common theme is an embracing of all world religions. Religion is somehow intertwined with each rare find that the characters make. I appreciate the way Ms. Olsen always characterizes the religious elements in her stories in a positive light, as the hope of mankind rather than the way most works of fiction portray religion in a negative sense as mankind’s biggest problem. This is a fun read filled with colorful characters and lots of action. I recommend it for fans of character-driven adventure who like to learn about science, ancient civilizations, and world religions along the way.
