As this book is based on profound character growth, the author did a remarkable job of slowly easing the reader along on the journey. I found the attention to detail with the construction of the various homesteads quite interesting.

Pavane Ravel is the author and writer of her introductory novel series of “The Other Shoes of Larry Martin.” Book one, “Revelation of Lies,” was released Oct. 2021 and is available for purchase on her official website, Amazon, B&N, online, and many online bookstores.
Ravel has always wanted to be a full-time writer and finally has reached the point in life where that dream is a reality. Pavane traveled extensively over the years and has seen nearly the entire United States, much of Canada and Europe, along with some of Central America. Pavane also studied both political science and journalism in universities both stateside and Europe.
Pavane is now happily married with children; she enjoys discussing economics after working as a commodities broker. Pavane resides in NYC and spends time concentrating on both family and her writing.

Find the Seeker! (The Pathless Path to Fulfillment and Happiness) written by Xuan Lou Genro and Clifford Stevens, is an inspirational non-fiction book on finding true happiness and fulfillment. The book would appeal most to a mixed audience of adults and young adults of any beliefs who wish to find their true nature and understand their spiritual needs. This book guides the reader in learning about the spiritual dimensions that all people share to provide guidance on existential questions, the true nature of oneself, and how to live a fulfilling life.
Find the Seeker! (The Pathless Path to Fulfillment and Happiness) by Xuan Lou Genro and Clifford Stevens is a well-written book that is truly unique. I enjoyed how the book was inspirational and informative in that it taught me not just about myself but also about Eastern religion and Zen. I found myself truly enjoying this book because it felt as if the authors were trying to teach me and help me improve myself as a person, both in mind and spirit.
The fact that the book was in an understandable plain English that avoided jargon greatly appealed to me because I did not have to be an expert or constantly look in a dictionary to understand what was written. Instead, I understood the concepts from the very beginning of the book. Clifford Stevens (Zen Master Kiichi Gong) studied Qi Gong, Zen, and meditation under Genro for many years before being certified as a Zen teacher in 2016 and as Zen Master in late 2021.
Born in the United States, Stevens’s career included teaching, journalism, PR manager, and a translator. He studied Qi Gong, Zen, and meditation with Genro Xuan Lou and Laoshi.
The author shares his meditation-imparted experiences, and the Dharma transmission from Genro qualified me to be named a teacher of Zen. He enjoyed writing this understandable, easy reading guide along with Master Genro for those wanting to learn more and practice true Buddhism and the benefits that come with the teachings in Find The Seeker!
Gert Beirer, who was born in Austria in 1945, studied Zen, meditation, Kung-Fu, Qi Gong, and acupuncture in Asia. He was given the name Genro (“Origin of Joy”) Xuan Lou, Laoshi (Laoshi = “Spiritual Master”) by Zen Master Tetsuo Kiichi Nagaya Roshi. Genro Xuan Lou, Laoshi was named Zen (Chan) Master by the Abbot and Grand Master Kun Kong at the Lingyin Temple (Shakyamuni Buddhism) in Hangzhou, with whom he studied 11 years, by Abbot and Zen Master Shi Chan Ming in Wuhan, Province Hubei, China, and was also named Shifu or “Spiritual Teacher” in 2009 by Shi Xue Feng, Abbot of the Ding Shan Temple in Germany.
Genro Laoshi has lectured at universities, appeared on TV, held seminars on a variety of spiritual and self-help topics, taught Qi Gong courses, and published articles and books on meditation. Both authors reside in Austria.

Q&A With Zen Master/Author Clifford Stevens
How did this project begin? Zen Master Genro Xuan Lou, Laoshi self-published a book in German many years ago and wanted to share his “insights” with a larger audience. He asked me, his pupil whom he later named to serve as a Zen and meditation teacher, to collaborate with him to do a revised, expanded, and updated edition for the English-speaking world.
Tell us some more about your book. A living Master and I, his pupil, have teamed up to offer readers a “new” book based on the age-old pathless path. Find the Seeker! accompanies people on a life-changing inner pilgrimage. It is a traveling companion and guide and a powerful, straight-talking wake-up call holding up a mirror to our worldly existence. It entices readers with a vision of what we really are – which can only be directly experienced – by helping us unfold our true nature. In turn, we can abide in the one Self. In this way, seekers become finders. This enables us to enjoy the bliss and lightness of Being that are inherently ours.
Who will this book appeal to? Find the Seeker! focuses on the spiritual dimension all of us share. What makes this book unique? First, it is not a new discovery, concoction, or miracle cure. It is based on first-hand experience as well as the tried and tested wisdom of a modern-day Master and enlightened ones throughout the ages.
The strength of the book is its focus on the spiritual dimension underlying Existence which all people share. It also picks people up where they are in a compassionate and understandable manner. Second, the book is not a wishy-washy quick fix or feel-good esoteric porridge pandering to those who want a spiritual baby rattle. Instead, it is a book of tough love, asking people to forego their thinking, logic, emotions, ego processes, and past experiences.
The book is in stark contrast to the majority of books and teachings of Buddhism, most only indulge in superficial descriptions or sayings and provide seemingly “precise” instructions, lists of goals, or steps to take. Third, the book does not slowly work its way to a conclusion but continually repeats key messages to hammer away at our conventional beliefs.
We act as facilitators, hoping the book will fall on fertile ground. Speaking with authority and a sense of urgency, we strive to transform the complicated path of so many seekers into the realization that we already are what we are looking for. Finally, Find the Seeker! aims to help people free themselves from their dependency on intermediaries, gurus, and religious institutions, or from the self-delusion of being less than they really are.
What was the hardest part of writing this book? At the very beginning of his famous classic Tao Te Ching, Lao Tzu stated that the Tao that can be expressed in words is not the eternally unchanging Tao. It is a challenge to attempt to put in words that which is nameless and cannot be described. Moreover, it is crucial to ensure that one remains faithful to what one IS and not adapt the book to please the audience.
What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write and why? There is no “favorite” chapter or part of the book because all the chapters come together to make a holistic whole. Nevertheless, it was gratifying after several chapters were done to see the book taking shape. This is a book, which is designed to unfold its impact and slowly work on readers.
In contrast to a novel read in a few sittings, a good spiritual book is like a symphony that one can repeatedly listen to. The challenge is for our readers to immerse themselves in it in the here-now, and allow each page to turn into a revelation or an awakening. By doing such, they will enable the book to point to the Isness and Suchness – even if they do not “comprehend” everything right away.
What were your goals and intentions in this book, and how well do you feel you achieved them? To humbly attempt to express what cannot be expressed in words, to tell things straight but to make it all understandable and compassionately pick people up where they are. Perhaps the book will serve as an inspiration to help readers reboot their spiritual search and renew their lives. However, the book should not be overestimated.
This book (and any other) is only capable of giving readers a hint of what awaits them. We tell readers not to simply take our word for it. The work of finding the truth will have to be “done” by them. And this work won’t be “intellectual” in nature, but can only be directly experienced – by turning within. A number of spiritual teachers highly praised the book before its publication. Now we will see how readers react to it.

Meet Ms. Pavane Ravel. Pavane is a unique writer and wordsmith of dramatic literary, twisty political fiction novels. Her new novel series is titled “The Other Shoes of Larry Martin,” and, as she shared with me, she has been ‘living and breathing’ her main character of Larry Martin for quite some time now. Well, let’s just say…for writing over six more books to come in this novel series, and that, they say, is a whole lot of writing, my friends!
I am reading the first novel and introduction to her series titled “Revelation of Lies,: I have to say her writing style sort of reminds me a little of another author I enjoyed reading years back, Mr. Harold Robbins who wrote many literary fiction novels that incorporated loads of topics in his books like sexiness, salty language, murder, politics, and so much more. he wrote with just “Letting It All Hang-Out” so to speak. Hopefully, Pavane won’t be too harsh on Cat for that comparison! But I do enjoy books that do! Even though they are lit fiction, they are real and raw.

ABOUT PAVANE RAVEL AND SPECIAL MESSAGE TO READERS:
“I grew up in a conservative Catholic home. My father was a politician involved in the ‘moral majority,’ which sought to criminalize gays and destroy women’s reproductive rights. As a child, I didn’t know better. But eventually, I had my own revelation about what I believed. I found extreme conservatism to be narrow-minded and authoritarian. Its policies inflicted the worst kind of misery. I noted the hypocrisy and deceit. All of it changed me.
Growing up, I closely observed the viciousness of conservatives. I saw that they didn’t care about living with children, so long as they could force a woman to have a child. And after that child was born, it was a ‘moocher’ if the mother needed government support in feeding that child.
I watched Ronald Reagan throw the mentally ill out of hospitals and onto the streets. People who needed food stamps and supplemental family aid were called ‘welfare queens.’ The American way was to ‘pull yourself up by your bootstraps.’
I have watched the decimation and underfunding of public education. As a result, much of America is no longer well educated.
I have lived through the Recession of 2008, where approximately half the country lost their homes and savings.
I have observed the current crisis of rising rents, resulting in a horrific increase in homelessness. All of this relates to the conservative fiscal policies of ‘trickle-down economics’ which have never worked.
Then, in 2010, the Supreme Court ruled for Citizens United, essentially allowing corporations to become people. (The only dissenting opinion came from Associate Justice John Paul Stevens who argued this ruling represented ‘a rejection of the common sense of the American people who recognize the need to prevent corporations from undermining self-government.’) And of course, this ruling DID allow the billionaire donor class to buy the government through dark super-PAC donations. As was feared, the Citizens United ruling boosted the electoral success of Republican candidates. But that was the sole purpose.
And as was feared, over time, conservative policies funneled the money upward from the middle class until a handful of billionaires own more than 60% of the world’s wealth. I feel this is awful and morally wrong.
I am neither an economist nor a political scientist – although I studied political science at University and ultimately became a commodities broker reporting on the technical nature of economics and the impact on the domestic markets.
As a progressive, I have been frustrated over conservative policies that help the ultra-wealthy, but not the people. I have watched homelessness rise under Trump. Beginning in book one of ‘Revelation of Lies,’ Larry is fired, he finds himself with no friends. He knows he’s in serious trouble and immediately tries to find work. He calls all his contacts, but no one is interested in helping him. He is down to one last contact to call. The most important one. It’s to Peter Bennett, the only guy he’s ever respected. Larry knows Peter works for a big-time progressive web-based newspaper. Maybe Peter will give him a chance to write?
Peter is kind. Even knowing that Larry worked at The Bart Data Report – a site he considers a trash heap of conspiracy theories and bomb-throwing agitation – he allows Larry to submit two timely political articles. He doesn’t think Larry has the skill set to write at the level of The Political Standard, but he would see.
While Larry is researching his articles for Peter, he begins the struggle of opening his mind from a closed conservative mentality to a massive new progressive worldview. Book goodies: What inspires you to write?
I was born wanting to write. As a child, once I learned how to read, all I did was read. Then, at age 13, I decided to try to write my first book, The Leader of Yore. It took me 5 years, writing in the dark and in secret from my parents. Finally, I ended up with 322 single-spaced hand-written pages. This book was for me. I had wanted to find out what it took to write a novel and I did. After I was done, I put the manuscript in a drawer and never looked back.
As life went on, between college, marriage, working full time, raising children, maintaining a household, and paying attention to my lovely husband, I had no time to write during normal hours. But, when my kids were in middle school, I was bitten hard by another inspiration for a book called Hepplewhite.
I loved Hepplewhite and I often wrote at night when everyone was asleep. I lived and breathed this book. It took me years to finish, writing a little at a time. But I did finish. And by now, I knew that all I wanted to do was become a full-time novelist. What inspires me to write? The love of writing itself. And the complex process of turning imagination into a living thing on paper that can be shared.
I am finally able to fulfill my dream of writing full-time. It’s a good thing. Because when I was struck with the idea for a series titled, The Other Shoes of Larry Martin, I realized that by the time I was done, this series would come in between 4,000 to 5,000 pages, spread over at least 7 books. And that is exactly what is happening. Larry Martin, is for me, just monumental.

Author Dave Lager is the pen name of Dave Ramacitti. The pen name is actually a derivative of a pet name used for her brother by his real-life sister, not unlike Ro’s unique name for Tuck, her brother.
Theoretically, Dave is the author of the Ro Delahanty novels. However, it feels more like he is the one transcribing as Ro dictates to him her story of finding herself in dangerous situations and discovering what it means to be a cop and a warrior. She is not reluctant to wake him up in the middle of the night with an idea for a new chapter.
Three novels in the Ro Delahanty series are now available: “Ro’s Handle,” “Hear Evil,” and “Losses” The fourth, “Secrets Never End,” should be released early 2022, while the fifth, “Secrets Never End: Revelations” should be out later in 2022. Dave has made his career in journalism and marketing and published several books under his given name for the small business market. Dave’s careers included working as a newspaper reporter and magazine editor and publisher, and as a marketing /public relations consultant helping small business be more effective marketers.
Dave and his wife of nearly thirty years are still best friends. They are pet lovers with 80% cute /20% brat puppy named Sofie and a laconic cat named Mr. Squeaks. They all reside in Western Illinois alongside the beautiful Mississippi River.
