“An Intimate Author Interview With Romance Thriller Author, A. Gavazzoni Here on Cat Lyon’s Reading Den.”

Hello, and Welcome Readers and Friends,

Today we have Author, A. Gavazzoni as our guest author interview and she has just released her second novel of her romance psychological thriller series. Her first book titled; “Behind The Door: Hidden Motives – book one” has just received a “Golden Box Books Judges Choice” book award! She has released book two titled; ” Lara’s Journal: A Sizzling Psychological Thriller” that I feel will HIT #1 on Amazon Kindle soon.  So let’s read and learn more about this beautiful Brazilian Lawyer by day and writer of steamy suspense by night, Author, A. (Adriana) Gavazzoni . . . .

(Q) Tell us a little about your new release of Lara’s Journal – book two and how it differs from your first novel ‘Behind the Door’?

“Lara´s Journal is the sequel to Behind The Door, and in this new novel, the reader is going to discover the hidden motives behind Lara´s behavior as an adult. Readers will get to know her, learning about her childhood through her college years.

Simone suffers deep changes in this second novel, thanks to the traumas she endured in the first book. In Lara’s Journey, Simone decides to enjoy life in a different way. The new book contains mystery, murder, and all criminal scenes were checked and endorsed by a former FBI agent, so they are as realistic as possible.

The book is also steamy as hell, so prepare for sex beyond any limits—even more scandalous than what readers encountered in Behind The Door”

(Q) How many books will be in your novel series?

I believe I’m going to write at least three…but I don´t put reins on or apply rules to my imagination; I let it run free!

(Q) What writing challenges did you have with Book Two? Was it more difficult to write than ‘Behind The Door’?

Book two has many criminal situations that required a frequent consultation with FBI agents, and also, I had to study a lot of psychiatry to create Lara and the other characters, but I don´t think writing Lara’s Journey was more difficult than writing Behind The Door, I believe the first novel was more difficult because it was the first one.

One difficulty I really had was to cut the second novel before it reached a thousand pages…and hold on to the rest of the story, keeping it in my mind for book number three.

.

(Q) Tell us about yourself?

Well…I am from Brazil…and I am a very active person, or better, I am hyperactive. Professionally I’m a lawyer and a writer…I love to dance, to work out, to read and to cook ( I can cook some amazing dishes and now I’m learning Indian Cook…spicy!!!!). I am also addicted to movies.I love to learn foreigner languages and culture ( I speak English, French, Spanish and Portuguese) and I travel abroad whenever I can. I love art and I’m a museum rat and passionate about history. I love animals. All kind of animals. And I have two dogs, two beautiful girls, Gaia and Juno.

(Q)  What inspires you to write?

Human nature inspired me. I love to observe people and try to guess why they behave the way they do…it’s all about hidden motives and we all have ours.

(Q) Do you have any unusual writing habits?

Whenever I have an idea for a scene I send messages to myself (whats app and e-mails) LOL.

(Q) What authors, or books have influenced you?

So many marvelous writers inspired me…to start with the classical ones like Emily Bronte, Stendhal, Dumas, Saad Marquis, Margaret Mitchell and modern ones like Marc Levy, Tom Clancy, Dan Brown, John Grisham and Colleen McCullough …but I could list a hundred here…the poems of Alisson Matos – a Brazilian writer – from Baudelaire to Allan Poe.

(Q) Do you have any advice for new authors? And what was the best advice you have gotten?

For writers, if you love to write, believe you are going to be a published writer/author and never give up on your dream! Now, the best overall advice I ever heard came from my father; “learn everything you can, Nobody can take knowledge from you.”

.

.

(Q) Now to round out your interview, a few personal detail. What is your favorite color and favorite foods?

My favorite color is red, and I don´t know if I have a favorite food, as I enjoy trying everything, but I really love any kind of spicy food—Thai, Indian, Brazilian Bahía´s food. I take great pleasure in the dining experience and think of it as a sensual activity, so, whenever I can…I try something really different.

(Q) And last, what is one “secret” about you that readers don’t know or can’t find to about you?

I´m an open person, so if someone asks me a direct question, I will answer. I don’t think I have any deep, dark secrets or skeletons in my closet, but there is one thing people might not guess about me—I´m very childlike, and I love to watch cartoons, Disney movies, and go to amusement parks. Nothing is more fun to me than a crazy-dangerous roller coaster that causes me to shout and scream until I’m hoarse! LOL!

Do You Know Your “Roots to Religion?” Meet Diane Olsen, Author. She Studied This Subject in Her New Book.

diane-olsen-presents2.
Diane Olsen, Author Presents Her New Book Release Titled; ANCIENT WAYS: The Roots of Religion .  .  .  .  .

ABOUT THE BOOK:

“In order to enjoy this book, you may have to suspend current beliefs, since some of the concepts may seem quite foreign at first. Hopefully, you will find precious gems to take with you.”

What if monotheism always existed, and revelations were given to all human forms. There are hints to that effect. We should not assume primitive peoples were not smart enough to grasp the concept of a single Creator!

Too often we tweak religion to reflect our personal thoughts, rather than dealing directly with the Word of God. Today monotheism is represented by at least nine living faiths, yet praying to God alone is not enough, for many. Instead, we pray to Prophets, angels, saints, ancestors, deities, and the universe.

This creates a chain of “Paths” and “Ways” which become stained by human desires for control and material benefits. And as darkness and materialism overtake one Faith, another is born, through the intervention of the Holy Spirit, clothed in a different form, with a new name, and very familiar teachings.

Monotheism can be visualized as a chain linking prehistory and history, entwined with human additions, wisps and twists that produce an undulating, ultimate Yin and Yang. This constant interaction of complementary, as well as conflicting, forces and energies, exhibits both organic unity and dynamism ( various theories or philosophical systems that seek to explain phenomena of nature by the action of force) – even war. Those who suspect there is a unified core of basic beliefs should enjoy Ancient Ways.

5-STAR AMAZON BOOK REVIEW: “Totally encompassing the history of the world’s religions.,” -September 25, 2016

Ancient Ways: The Roots of Religion (Kindle Edition)

Ancient ways, The Roots of religion is one amazingly concise and intuitive book. The subject covers from the very earliest bipedal man through biblical times and into the middle ages and beyond.Communicating with gods that seem to have so much in common and so many similar histories assist in the belief that we share a creator and creation story.

I found myself lost in this book, not a negative, the history and the evolution of man was very well stated and provides documentation for the statements. It delves into zombies, white witches, Jewish God, Islamic Allah, Buddha, Osiris, and every form of Diety that has been worshiped and found through verbal and written histories.

The ancient ways connect astrology, alchemy, and all other esoteric practices. The book of Enoch in the Apocrypha tells of the giants that inhabited the world before the great flood. This is carried through in other religious documents of the time. Learning about the Priest, Ram was a new and fully invigorating story of earth’s early man and their desire to move past a belief in nature.

They began with priestesses and the chapters on Rams dreams, writings and memories is so thought provoking and insightful. It was new material for me and I was in awe of his place and time in history. I had heard of Cherchen man before, but to read of their belief system and their history was so enlightening. Rama took away the sacrifices and brought about praise. All because of yet another dream. I can not stop reading this book., Each page is filled with unknown religious histories.

This book will provide you a glimpse of each of the main religions of the current people and the original people. I will keep this as a reference because it encompasses so much information, I can’t retain it all. IT is a book to absorb and retain for reference! Very well researched and written. .  .  .

The Path of the Child – By Author,   Sojourner McConnell – On Amazon

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Seventeen-year-old Melanie Easton grew up in a lonely loveless home and accepted that she was facing an empty life. Unable to reach out to other children that she attended elementary and High School with, her quiet existence seemed to be her lot in life. One morning fate dropped a new friend into her life. As unexpected as it was that she made this friend, she noticed that changes started taking place in her life. After making a new friend, she finds that changes are occurring in her life. Will they be wonderful changes?

BOOK REVIEW:   5-STARS!

“I Could Relate To This Coming of Age Story Personally”

Where do I begin? Even though this a piece of fiction, you learn right away that this story is one of many young girls journies and path in life. Starting from childhood to about 17, Melanie has faced abuse, abandonment, non-existent parental love as the list goes on. I could actually “feel” many of the same feelings Melanie felt. I to had a rough childhood. As I, and Melanie, just wanting to be heard or acknowledged from your parents would have been a sliver of hope for unconditional love.

I don’t like to spoil a good book, so what I will tell you is that the author did an exceptional job in writing this storyline as it shares many topics through her characters that brought meaning.
And when a writer can make you feel what she is writing with a tear shed, a smile with a laugh, a girl longing to find some truth, the power of friendship and feeling her character has ‘Triumphed’ by the end of the story?

Now that’s what makes a book a great read like this one!

And that is exactly what you get when reading “The Path of the Child.” It leaves you feeling inspired, learning the power of love, and shows we all have a “seed” within us to overcome anything in our lives through Melanie…. I will be waiting for book 2.

Guest Review: Author, Steve Hauptman Book Series-Book One of “Monkey Traps”

9-16-on-sale-now-132

.

Hello and Welcome Readers,

Lyon Book Promotions Presents Reviews, Guest Interview Article, and Book Promotion for Author and Writer Steve Hauptman. Steve has been everywhere these days with Book One of his series out, he has been interviewed at “Keys To Recovery News” and his book was reviewed by Founder and Editor at Keys too! His book is also listed and featured in “In Recovery Magazine’s The Bookstand and in my Column called; “The Author’s Cafe.” So when my fine authors get such “KUDOS,” I just have to share and congratulate them.
Great Job Steve.  Here we go!

My Author Article ~ The Author’s Cafe ~ In Recovery Magazine

Steve Hauptman, a Gestalt-trained, Buddhist-flavored therapist with a 20-year practice on Long Island, New York, is an author and cartoonist with a great sense of humor. He is currently working on the second volume of The Monkeytraps book series. Book One, “Monkeytraps: Why Everybody Tries to Control Everything and How We Can Stop” is now available on Amazon in both paperback and e-book format.

Hauptman grew up in an alcoholic family, which pretty much guaranteed his career as a control addict. He spent is younger years struggling with anxiety and depression, then tried everything most recovering codependents do – therapy, medication, reading, self-help – all of which helped to some extent. “It wasn’t until I began studying the idea of control that I understood what was making me miserable and what to do about it.”

Hauptman has always written and always wanted to write books. He taught college writing, then began using it as personal therapy, then taught others to do the same. When he became a therapist writing seemed to be a natural way to explore what he wanted to teach about control. “I once heard about how hunters in Africa catch monkeys by tempting them to trap themselves.  It seemed a perfect metaphor for human control addiction.”

People familiar with the idea of codependency will probably find it easiest to relate to Monkeytraps. Hauptman wrote it for anyone who are unhappy – anxious, depressed, addicted, struggling with relationships or parenting – and don’t understand why. The concept of control addiction offers both a new to explain all those problems and a new way to heal them.

“Bert, my inner monkey is my favorite character in my book.” Kevin shared. “He’s the part of me that tries to control stuff he can’t or shouldn’t control. We’ve been together a long time. I don’t always like him, but he did make the book possible.”

When I asked him if he has any unique talents or hobbies, Hauptman replied, “I make a pretty good hummus.”

BOOK REVIEW FEATURE ~ KEYS TO RECOVERY NEWS ~  “Monkey Traps” Book One

“Monkey Traps, Why Everyone Tries To Control Everything
and How We Can Stop” ~ Written by Steve Hauptman.
Published by Lioncrest Publishing.  Review by: Beth Dewey

Product Details

I loved this book before I even opened it. The Title said
it all, and it tells me that Steve has not just written about the
“problem” he is offering a “solution”.

Written on that back cover “This book is about a problem
disguised as a solution, an idea that shapes and drives us all:
Control.”

Again the problem is clearly identified.

The book begins with explaining “The Monkey Trap”,
then each chapter clearly explains the different types of Control
we think we have. Steve gives us solutions, plans, and
steps to overcome the traps we live in. I like that towards the
end of the book the chapters are titled, Acceptance, Trust,
Faith, Practicing Surrender and so. Words I relate to. Each chapter is simple and easy to read and understand, and yet so deep it could change your life from the first moment you open the book and open your heart to a solution. Easy to follow and easy to practice instructions.

I give a heartfelt “5 Stars” for this book and I will be passing it on.

Steve Hauptman is a Gestalt-trained, Buddhist-flavored therapist who has practiced
on Long Island for twenty years. A leader of Interactive Therapy groups, he is
also a cartoonist and creator of the blogs Monkeytraps: A blog about control, Monkey
House (a forum for discussing control issues).

FEATURED GUEST ARTICLE ~ Written by Author, Steve Hauptman

WANT TO TRAP A MONKEY? Try this:
1} Find a heavy bottle with a narrow neck.
2} Drop a banana into it.
3} Leave the bottle where a monkey can find it.
4} Wait.

The monkey will do the rest. He’ll come along, smell the banana, reach in to grab it. Then find he can’t pull it out because the bottleneck is too small. He can free himself easily. He just has to let go. But he really, really wants that banana. So he hangs on. He’s still hanging on when you come to collect him. And that’s how you trap a monkey.

WANT TO TRAP A HUMAN?
Try this:
1} Place the human in an uncomfortable situation.
2} Wait.

The human will do the rest. He or she will try to reduce their discomfort by controlling the situation. The harder they work to reduce their discomfort, the more uncomfortable they’ll get. The harder they try to escape their discomfort, the more trapped they’ll feel. And that’s how you trap a human.

~
mt-series-1-6
~

This article is about control in general, and psychological monkey-traps in particular. A psychological monkey-trap is any situation that tempts us to hold on when we should let go — to control what either can’t or shouldn’t be controlled. The world is filled with monkey-traps. As is the emotional life of every human being. I learned this from practicing psychotherapy.

Theraphy also taught me four: truths:
1. We are all addicted to control.
2. This addiction causes most (maybe all) of our emotional problems.
3. Behind this addiction lies our wish to control feelings.
4. There are better ways to manage feelings than control. I call these the Four Laws of control.

CONTROL: The ability to dictate reality. That’s how I define control. It’s not a definition you’ll find in any dictionary and probably not how you define it. But it’s essential to understanding everything that follows. Dictate means rearrange or change according to our preferences. Reality means, well, everything – everything outside us (people, places, and things) and inside us (thoughts, feelings, behavior) too.

Defined this broadly, the wish for control stands behind just about everything we do consciously. Plus most of what we do unconsciously (feel, fantasize, worry, dream) as well. We seek control in order to get reality to behave as we want it to. We seek control because we want to make the world adjust itself to us, instead of vice versa. We all want control in this sense. Not just want, either. We crave it. Control is the mother of all motivations. Every human ever born has craved it and chased it. Because it’s a craving that is literally built into us.

CONTROLLING: The urge to control is part of our hard wiring. Why?

Because it is wired into us to ~ seek pleasure and avoid pain, ~ imagine a perfect life (one that meets all our needs and makes us perfectly happy), and then ~ try to make those imaginings come true. The word controlling covers all forms of this imagining and trying. Our trying may be large (building a skyscraper) or small (killing crabgrass), complex (winning a war) or simple (salting my soup). It may be important (curing cancer) or petty (trimming toenails), public (getting elected) or private (losing weight), essential (avoiding a car crash) or incidental (matching socks). I may inflict my own trying on other people (get you to stop drinking, kiss me, wash the dishes, give me a raise) or on myself (raise my self-esteem, lose weight, hide my anger, learn French). All this involves seeking some form of control.

We’re controlling nearly all of the time. We control automatically and unconsciously, waking and sleeping, out in the world and in the privacy of our thoughts. From birth until death. The only time we’re not controlling is when we can relax, and do nothing, and trust that things will work out just fine anyway. How often can you do that?

ABOUT ADDICTS:

Addicts are people who can’t handle feelings. Usually, because they never learned to as kids. Usually, because their parents never taught them. Usually, because they couldn’t, because their parents never taught them. (Usually. There are other paths to addiction, but this is the most common.) Being unable to handle feelings is a problem since feelings tend to keep coming up. So the kid of such parents naturally starts looking around for something to make the damn things go away.

Drugs, alcohol, and food are obvious solutions. Though anything that alters your mood (work, shopping, sex, porn, TV, video games, housecleaning, alphabetizing your spice rack) can be turned into an addiction. And even when they work, these solutions are temporary. Feelings always come back. So a person without some healthier way to handle them is forced to drink, drug, eat, work, or whatever they do to make the feelings go away again. And that’s how addiction is born. Some are more destructive than others. But in the end, each addiction is the same. Because each has the same goal: To give the addict control over emotional life. And that’s why when I’m asked, “What does control have to do with addiction?” I reply, “Everything.” Because finally, every addiction is an addiction to control.

As a practical matter, every recovery from control addiction
starts with three questions:

1. What am I trying to control here?
2. Have I been able to control this before?
And if the answer to question 2 is No:
3. What can I do instead?

These are essential questions to ask ourselves when stressed because they remind us that (a) stress is what usually triggers our controlling, and (b) our controlling usually produces more stress. Not always easy to answer, though.
Because each is a trick question.

(1) What am I trying to control?
Control addicts answer this by looking outside themselves, at externals.

ACTION / ADVENTURE – NEW APPLE OFFICIAL SELECTION

The Improbable Journeys of Billy Battles

by Ronald E. Yates

The Finding Billy Battles trilogy tells the amazing story of a man who is born in 1860 and who dies in 1960. In between Billy lives an improbable and staggering life of adventure, peril, transgression, and redemption. Then Billy mysteriously disappears. For several decades his family has no idea where he is or what he is doing.

Finally, with his life coming to an end, Billy resurfaces in an old soldiers’ home in Leavenworth, Kansas. It is there when he is 98 that he meets his 12-year-old great-grandson and bequeaths his journals and his other property to him — though he is not to receive them until he is much older.

“Behind the Door” – the New Book from Writer A. Gavazzoni is More Than a Psychological Erotic Thriller, It’s the Perfect Blend of Mystery, Sensuality, and Intelligence.

New York, NY, July 06, 2016 –(PR.com)– “Behind The Door” brings to the table – or the chaise longue – mystery, romance, and humor, packed with high doses of eroticism.

A.Gavazzoni debuts with the page-turner, heart-racer book “Behind The Door.” This thriller novel is full of mystery with the death of Lara, a beautiful architect, at lawyer Mark’s hands during a sex game. For Mark’s defense – Carl – his defense attorney – hires Simone, a renowned psychiatrist specialist in sexual behavior, to help him buttress his argument that Lara’s death was accidental. Taboos are exposed, and the readers learn about Mark’s steamy yearlong affair with Lara, through his memoirs.

While studying Mark’s memoirs, Simone continues to treat her psychiatric patients and researching for her next book, while her attraction to the enigmatic lawyer increases. As the readers move from chapter to chapter, the normalcy in Simone’s life ends when a serial killer starts torturing and killing women in her town, and new details from Lara’s and Mark’s life unveil to show the readers this underground, not-so-talked-about lifestyle of the rich and influential people.

Many mind-twisting chapters and surprising detours lay ahead of the reader who chooses to adventure themselves into the world of “Behind The Door.”

NEW BOOK Release by Author, Diane Olsen and we welcome her to Lyon Book & Social Media Promotions! Her amazing book will have you looking at Religion and Human Creation in a much different and unique way her book:

‘Ancient Ways: The Roots of Religion’

.

About The Book:

“In order to enjoy this book, you may have to suspend current beliefs since some of the concepts may seem quite foreign at first.

This constant interaction of complementary, as well as conflicting, forces and energies, exhibits both organic unity and dynamism even war. Those who suspect there is a unified core of basic beliefs should enjoy “Ancient Way’s”  .  .   .   .

Collins: Pre-vet med, Anthropology, then attended and received her BA and MA at the University of Montana, Missoula: Anthropology, Archaeology, and Paleontology.
