My Book Review for Psychic Confessions . . .
“Just Fantastic”!

Hannah has done a fantastic job with her new novel series, Book 1 of Psychic Confessions.

This read has everything you’d want in a suspense thriller. It deals with a families past pains, mental stability, dark secrets, mysteries, and much more. There is murder, mystery, intrigue through out each page of this wonderful storyline which spans 6 decades as Jenna reveals.

When you don’t think you can take anymore heart-break, or take more emotional turmoil of the revelations Jenna stumble upon, more storyline past haunts melt into Jenna’s present. When she begins to have memories of her mother’s death by suicide, and she ends up in an orphanage at age three, and her life starts to take off from there. But Jenna’s own life becomes pulled apart, her adopted brother Vincent, and Jenna’s psychiatrist, a good friend take her away to a cottage to try and help her recovery from her own brush with death, and attempted suicide.

Now even though this book is a work of fiction, many who know me know I battle my own real life mental and emotional health conditions, so this book really spoke to me. I could feel the pain Jenna was going through, and that is when you know a writer is very special like Hannah Warren. And even though again it’s fiction, some of this storyline collided with my real life past emotional haunts. That is why I was hooked from the beginning to the last page of this fantastic read!

BRAVO Hannah!
You have done a wonderful job with book one of this new novel series! I truly can not wait for the next book of this series to come out. And as the book blurb details:,
“Psychic Confessions is a tale of murder, mystery, intrigue, familial despair, heartbreak, and spiritual resurrection”. . Great Family Saga & Thriller Read!

She definitely gets a 5 Stars from me. And a top-notch recommended read.
.

HAPPY READING!

A Special Blog Review ~ Mom’s Choice Award Winning Book Titled “Failing At Fatherhood” By, Jack Barr.

.
Failing at Fatherhood: A book for the imperfect father
.
MY BOOK REVIEW FOR MOM’S CHOICE AWARD WINNING BOOK:

My breath was taken away many times while reading Author, Jack Barr’s book titled: Failing at Fatherhood, A book for the Imperfect Father.
While reading this book, it took me back to 2011 when I was writing my own now published book. It was a way for me to heal, inform, and raise awareness of what I felt I had failed in life with addiction. Jack to has done a similar thing here in his own fantastic book about his reaction to the news about his beautiful daughter Marley.

It is a raw, honest, and open look at one man’s faults when learning that his 3 day old ‘Marley’ has Down Syndrome, and how he reacts to this news. Even those with a strong “faith” can be rocked by such news.
We then tend to feel and think it was our fault some how that this has happened to “my child”.
Jack’s book shows us all as the human people that we are. We are not perfect by any means, we do at times react before we think things through, and we are a work in progress for a lifetime.

His open heart, spilling out all his faults is a very brave thing to do, even in our society when men are taught or raised to be strong, not to show feelings or emotions. Jack is like any other man.
My heart hurt many times of his deep sharing, and raw account of his story. Like one reader mentioned in their review, this book will take your on an in-depth emotional journey. And that is how I felt when done reading this well written book. I enjoyed his writing style, and like I did, take the reader on a journey.

And you could read the rawness when he wrote of Marley. She is now a vibrant, sweet little 3 1/2-year-old darling that you will also fall in love with!! If she doesn’t to it by her photo on the front cover of the book?
Reading more about her in Jack’s book will!

Jack has done an exceptional job at Raising Awareness of Down Syndrome with his first book. I hope he continues Marley’s story, and the families in future books. It truly is worth the time to read. And why I give it a 5 Star * * * * * Review.
.
About The Book:

Winner of a Mom’s Choice Book Award”

“Why do I fear her so much? Marley is my own flesh and blood, yet I lie here silently as a new father wondering if I will be here in the morning.”

When Jack Barr and his wife, Jana, had their first child, they were overcome with joy and excitement. Three days later, as they prepared to leave the hospital, two doctors entered their room debating whether newborn baby Marley, had Down syndrome. Mixed in with the confusion of whether or not their daughter was chromosomally different, Jack and Jana knew their lives would be changed forever.

Failing at Fatherhood embraces Jack’s honest struggles as a father, after receiving his child’s diagnosis of Down syndrome three weeks after her birth. He excavates the past, examines the present, and explores his future life in a sincere attempt to understand his personal failures as a father during his first year of parenthood. Throughout the book, Jack wrestles with the decision of divorce, suicide, and the existence of God. However, with His ultimate direction, Jack is able to understand the significance of fathers being committed to their children.

About The Author & Family:

Three years ago, Jack and Jana did not know God would use their daughter Marley, to forever alter their life plan. Marley was born with Down syndrome and that event sent Jack crashing into a sea of depression.
.
“I could not overcome the question of, Why us God”?
.
Since that day, Jack and Jana have rerouted their plan to align with God’s plan. They started, If They Had A Voice, an awareness campaign that focuses on Down syndrome abortions. Their story has been featured on CNN, CNN Mexico, Life Action News, and The Insight Channel. Jack has also released his first book, Failing at Fatherhood, which has been endorsed by Bob Russell, S.A. Bodeen, and Woodroll Kroll. Jack & Jana had a simple plan for their future, but God has forced them to trust in HIS plan. . .

They have a wonderful website to share Marley, Jack and Jana’s happenings, raise awareness about Down Syndrome, just as Jack is doing with his fantastic book, and More! His book also became a “Mom’s Choice Adult Book Award Winner” just this month, so take a visit to: If They Had A Voice here: http://iftheyhadavoice.org/
.

Now they have a voice!

“When my daughter was born, I told my wife I did not want her. I spent an entire year depressed because I believed everything society told me about having a daughter with Down syndrome. Now she is the joy of my life. She is not a monster, she is not ugly, she is not retarded, and she is not a burden on our family. She is a beautiful little girl that brings joy to our daily lives. I understand the fear of having a child that is different, so I want to encourage you to consider taking the road less traveled, and see the beautiful things a child with Down syndrome can show you.”  Award Winning Author – Jack Barr .  . .

Another Fabulous Author Interview By Andi Cumbo:
Here is a bit of the interview . ..
Write to Serve Others – A Writers Write Interview with Jack Barr

“If you have ever struggled with the path your life has taken, if you love someone who has Down Syndrome, if you doubt the reasons you life has come the way it has, I think you’ll appreciate the words of Jack Barr” . . .
.
1. Tell me about your latest project.I have recently written my first book, Failing at Fatherhood.  It was released this past November.  A publisher contacted me about two years ago after he read my article about our family on CNN.  He encouraged me to write a book and share my story with a broader community. That led me to writing Failing at Fatherhood.

2. What role, if any, did books, writing, and reading play in your childhood?

I was not an avid reader growing up.  My parents encouraged me to read, but I was more interested in outside activities.  After I became a Christian in college, reading became more important to me.  One author that encouraged me in my journey was Tony Campolo.  His book, Carpe Diem, opened my eyes to our calling as Christians and the needs of others around us.

3. What is your writing practice, your writing routine?

Since I have finished my book, I occasionally blog.  Usually I blog when something in the news or my life strikes me as an interesting story to share with others.  Recently I wrote about Brittany Maynard and Lauren Hill.  I shared my own thoughts about their stories and my personal experience of watching my father die of cancer when I was eighteen years old.

4. Who are you reading now?

I have three authors that I follow on a regular basis: Michael Connelly, John Gresham, & Ken Follett.  I enjoy “getting lost” in their stories and taking a break from my other responsibilities.  I also read various Christian authors when I find a topic interesting to me.  Right now I am working through a devotional book entitled, Conversations, by Brian Rice. . . .

*Now for the rest of this wonderful interview by, Andi Cumbo? Please visit her fabulous ‘writers website http://t.co/xz909i0u6M the rest of Jack’s interview is really interesting.*

I hope you enjoyed my new review for Author, Jack Barr, and make sure you connect with The Barr Family and see how they are helping many parents and families who also have children with Down Syndrome, and sharing Hope with them!

My Book Review For ‘Echoes from the Oasis’ by: A.R. Tirant ~ A Historical Romance Novel.

Hello and Welcome Readers & New Friends,

.
I’m excited and very honored to have the privilege of having my friend and fantastic new novelist,
A.R. Tirant & her novel titled; ‘Echoes from the Oasis’ …

My Novel Review:

I will have to admit that I was a wee bit late getting this review done. And getting to her new novel. But if I had known how Fabulous it was before I read this “magical journey of words,”  I would not have waited so long!
It’s a well written Historical Romance you won’t soon forget. Here is a little more about Rosie, yes, … I get to call her that, LOL … as she has become a good friend. I will tell you one thing about her? This woman is everywhere!
She has done a fine job in promoting her new novel where she had been born and raised, which in opinion, is one of the most beautiful places on earth, The Seychelles Islands.
.
Not only has Rosie written a beautiful fiction romance, she also shares many of the traditions, ways, and cultures of this beautiful part of the world. And the about a young woman, Anna who blossoms when she finds love. Even one of Rosie’s written characters has my first name, Catherine. Now that made me feel special. But I’m pretty confident that was well planned in her book before we had ever met. I also have to warn you about this read, when you start reading Rosie’s book, be prepared to have a few late nights as I did. One night I didn’t turn out my reading lamp until almost 2 am. Now that’s a great read! I was so drenched into this storyline, the well written historical sites tells me the author did some research. But then again, when your born and raised where your storyline takes place, it is the past historical background Rosie really shines. She has a wonderful writing style I enjoyed as well.
.
That’s why I gave this beautiful read a 5 Stars! It truly is worth your time to purchase and read.
Great Job Rosie!
.
Now my reviews are not real descriptive as I don’t like giving any part of a wonderful read away. So here is more about Rosie, and more details of her new Historical Romantic novel. OH, did I tell you that it’s book one of a novel series?

About The Author:

.
r1     Image of A R Tirant
.
Rosie Tirant-Longhurst, aka A.R. Tirant, was born in the Seychelles in November 1958, the daughter of a policeman and the eldest in a family of four brothers and four sisters. She grew up on the northern coast of Mahe island, in the tiny seaside village of Beau-Vallon. Her working life started in 1975 as a nurse at Mahe’s Victoria Hospital, followed thereafter by a career in the Hotel Industry. She emigrated to England in 1995 and now lives in West Sussex with her husband. She has two grown-up sons and a granddaughter.

Rosie wasn’t born with a pen in her hand, far from it. Life growing up was hard and strict. The home comforts we all now take for granted were but a dream for the young girl whose days were divided between household chores, cooking, cleaning and looking after her young siblings. Water for all the household use had to be carried from a stream, with one hand holding a pail on her head, and the other keeping a second pail from spilling.

Education only happened because it was the one way of getting some rest during the daytime, even if the chores still had to be done by the light of a coconut oil lamp. They were difficult times… times when she would lean against the pillar of the outdoor kitchen waiting for dinner to cook in the large black pots, staring at the tropical skies and marvelling at the diamond beauty of the scattering of stars above, and all the while wishing for a different life…

‘Echoes from the Oasis’ is her debut novel which will be followed by other titles in the same series.

About Her New Novel:

Echoes from the Oasis  by A R Tirant (May 1, 2014)

.
In 1814, the war being raged on the seas of the Indian Ocean by the all-powerful Franco-British naval forces trying to dominate the lucrative trade routes to India, had ended with a truce. At the stroke of a pen, far away in the city of Paris, the exotic, tropical islands of the Seychelles became a British colony. Forged from their French descendants and African slave roots, and moulded by their new British rulers, a small nation had emerged.

It is July 1912, on the island of Mahe, and Anna Savy has just turned sixteen. Anna is a passionate, nature-loving and rebellious young woman at a time when women are confined to specific roles and expectations, and customs and traditions prevail with reverence. Strongly held beliefs in the goodness and righteousness of God, and in the secret and evil forces of witchcraft, hold equal sway in a closely knit Catholic community.

As a young nurse, Anna experiences both the joy and pain of her people, for survival is a daily struggle for the majority. A smallpox epidemic brings tragedy to Mahe’s Victoria Hospital, with the hatred and conflict between Anna’s British and Irish colleagues laid bare, whilst forbidden love brings the missing dimension to her life.

But then, the First World War brings the worst possible disaster . . .

Here is a little of what Rosie Tirant, the author has been up to. Like I said earlier, she is out just sharing her new novel everywhere! A visit to her New Website and Blog is a must. It has so much more about The Seychelles Islands and history. http://tirant.seychelleshistoricalnovels.com

Seychelles-born author Rosie Tirant Longhurst now residing in England says her debut novel is aimed at preserving what she likes about Seychelles. (Rosie Tirant-Longhurst) …

(Seychelles News Agency) – “The book is not one about Seychelles but because it is set in Seychelles I have been able to write a lot about what we have and do in Seychelles, where we come from. It’s about what makes us Seychellois.”

This is how Seychelles-born author Rosie Tirant-Longhurst describes her debut novel ‘Echoes from the Oasis’ that has received raved reviews.

Rosie who left Seychelles for England 20 years ago was in Seychelles recently. Gerard Govinden had the chance to interview her on Saturday September 13, 2014 at the Sun Resort Hotel at Beau Vallon, northern district of the main island of Mahé.

GG: Can you give us a summary of the book?

Rosie Tirant-Longhurst: “The book is not a one about Seychelles but because it is set in Seychelles I have been able to write a lot about what we have and do in Seychelles, where we come from. It’s about what makes us Seychellois. Through the characters I have been able to intertwine a lot of things that have happened in the past. This is just to give the book that richness, show what are our connections with the rest of the world. It is principally a book about women, how it was for women from the beginning. It’s the first in a series and I will use the same characters each time so that the readers know how they develop.

My main character is a nurse. It’s something I can relate to as my first job was a nurse. As a nurse you are in contact with people from all spectrum of life. You are connected to your patients. It made it easier for me to write a book when the main character was a nurse.

It is a fiction and is not about anybody specifically, but the names of the characters are real Seychellois names. I have touched on a number of things that happened in Seychelles in the old days. For example there was a smallpox epidemic here in 1883, but I have referred to it in the year 1913 in my book. I have been able to play around with some other information because it is a fiction and not a book about history. This is because I wanted to have these events in the timeframe I have written about in the book.”

A Two Reader Book Review For Novelist, Carl Baker, & Co-Author Marc Heberden, of ’14 Days In July’, A Fantastic Historical Read Worth Your Time.

14 Days in July

*14 Days In July ~ Review by: Author, Catherine Lyon & Reader Brittany Eshleman*
Publisher: Camerado Press; First edition (April 7, 2014) ~ ISBN-13: 978-0615955872
Available on Amazon UK & US, Barnes & Noble, and an Honor at bookstore in Paris, France: ‘Shakespeare and Company’ …

OUR REVIEW:

Because Carl and Marc’s novel is so detailed and Carl’s writing so prolific, I needed an extra pair of eyes for this book as to not miss a beat of this fantastic read of ‘The French Revolutionary War, and The Fall of Bastille’. And as the publisher shared, this novel truly is like several stories rolled into this novel similar to, The Three Musketeers, and The man in the Iron Mask.

I actually have the honor of knowing the author, Carl Baker, so I knew the hard work he has put into this beautifully written read, and he wanted the historical sites to be real and actually there if you happen to visit Paris, France. Carl and Marc took very unique steps in sharing what are some of the most beautiful places to visit in Paris, and that’s what makes this historical read stand out from the rest. This story is no doubt of ‘War and History’, as it follows the 14 days in July of the French Revolutionary War at a time of much disarray in France in 1789. With  food blockages, shortages, and mercenary forces keeping the people in line by, Louis XIV, and an iron fist, Carl’s best work is with pen and paper making his main characters come to life.
.
Brittany and I both enjoyed the unique way the writer includes pieces of historical secrets woven into this fantastic book you won’t find in any school history book! Carl’s writing style is more than a story-teller of history, his rawness and attention to factual details is nothing like I have read before. But the story really begins with the main character some 135 years earlier. About a young man whose identity a mystery, and was painstakingly hidden at any cost, as rumors fly about twin boys being switched, a mystery palace, and so much more.
.
But then, unexpectedly, love seems to enter the story as a silent moth to a flame, and just when you thought you have read all the secrets, your still in for more twists as the character of ‘Michele’ changes the landscape of this book with a hunt of romance. This novel really is hard to put down.
A page turner for sure! An absolutely outstanding read! Carl and Marc have in my opinion, a #1 Best Seller on their hands!
.
It’s why Brittany and I truly feel this novel could easily be a series, and why we both agreed on a 5 Star Review for the novel ~ “14 Days In July” …

A Triple Book Review Extravaganza for Author Cheri Vause & her New Novel~The Truth and Nothing but Lies.

Hello Friends, Readers, and Welcome Visitors,

As a book and social media promoter, it’s more than a full-time job to keep all my book clients happy, and make sure their awesome new books and novels get noticed in the large sea of new reads. And as you know, I have a lot of reading to do, so it’s it hard to steal time to read just for the pleasure of it, and the genres I enjoy to read. But sometimes, as a book should do, you get surprised by a book genre you normally wouldn’t read. That was the case with Cheri’s new novel.
.
The Truth and Nothing But Lies by Cheri Vause: Book Cover
.
My Book Review For Author, Cheri Vause:

That’s how I felt about reading a new novel by, Author Cheri Vause, titled; The Truth and Nothing but Lies.

I’m normally not a Mystery/Thriller reader often, but I have to say this was not only a page turner? It took on a very debated and intense topic in this riveting story. A FBI agent with not so good intentions to get a step up, and the story is set in the beautiful Pacific Northwest Coastal town of Astoria, Oregon, where I’ve visited many times myself. All stirred into this wonderfully written novel and story, without giving much away, is also a hungry reporter, a doctor and a missing client of his, and after abortion clinic bombings & suicide, comes the CIA to join the mix. Greene is very confused of his part in his job at the FBI to make it more interesting, as his father helps pull some strings for this current case he’s assigned.
I can tell you honestly in the beginning of the book I got a little lost, as it does move around from one plot to another, but that’s on me, as I have adult attention deficit, but then the story grabs a hold of you and doesn’t let you go with twists around every corner! As the case builds, evidence seems becomes non-existent, with more abortion bombings, thankfully no one in them at the time. I do have to say, Cheri is a very technical writer, and as you’ll see when you read this fantastic novel, she takes her job as a mystery writer very seriously. It shows in this novel. I have the pleasure of knowing Cheri, so I know many of the events in her book are from actual real events, as she had worked in this field. So she had first hand knowledge. All I can say about this novel? It’s worth your time to purchase and read.
Cheri is a very brave woman to write, base, and share all sides of this highly and religiously debated issue of ‘Pro-life or Pro-choice’ topic. And Cheri does a supreme job of weaving those issues into her book. That is when you really have taken the step as a real writer, when you’re not afraid to raise awareness with your craft as writer and author to use important issues like abortion in one’s work. KUDOS! I give this Novel a 5 Star Review!!

“Cheri’s novel has some more good reviews coming in and wanted to share as, I’m not the only one who enjoyed this fantastic mystery novel! Here is another wonderful review. It is from a very respected ‘Book Reviewer’ at Crystal Book Reviews” http://crystalbookreviews.blogspot.com

BOOK REVIEW FOR:

The Truth and Nothing But Lies. Cheri Vause. GWL Publishing. May 2014. 329 pp., e-book.

FBI Agent Grant Greene is a disillusioned detective who is on the verge of quitting when he’s assigned, after his father pull strings to get him leverage on a case that could catapult his career beyond its present inertia, to a case involving the bombing of an abortion clinic in Astoria, Oregon. A reporter, Hector Rodriguez, is hot on this case as it might bring him the kind of public recognition to advance his journalistic position as well.

Dr. Sanjay Kumar is supposedly the object of pro-life activists, yet something doesn’t seem quite right about the predictability of such a profile even beyond the fact that he botches more abortions than the ones he performs successfully. Ruined lives are more the norm of what he leaves behind him, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Then the bombing of other clinics and the mysterious disappearance of one of the doctor’s clients, Lara, brings the plaintiff deeper with involvement of the CIA and other nefarious characters into the mix.

Add to that some attempted shootings and the fact that no one seems to be able to provide actual evidence makes Greene realize that something larger than anti-abortion supporters is running these events, as well as the fact that the bombings occur when no one is present in the clinics to be hurt.

No spoilers here! But be assured, not a page turns but something new and intensely dangerous is occurring in this mystery/thriller novel based on actual events. Abortion is a highly charged issue and those who take one side or the other feel very strongly about the strength of position which translates to some deep pockets involved here that have political as well as moral motivations.

Cheri Vause has written a riveting novel about the violence and terror behind an issue that has divided and still divides Americans to this day.  Nicely constructed, Ms. Vause! …

A Special Sneak Peek Review Of The Night Shadow ~ Book Series  & Pre-order info
.
The Night Shadow by Chéri Vausé (Oct 14, 2014) – Kindle eBook

“Now a very special treat for all the readers”. Now that you know Author, Cheri Vause’s current new novel is a great read worth your time, we have a Sneak Peek Review of her long anticipated book series coming out, maybe as soon as this month titled; ‘The Night Shadow’ series.
A good friend and fellow author in her own right, Marilyn Fowler was chosen by Lyon Book & Social Media Promotions & Cheri Vause to read an advanced copy of book one! Marilyn was kind enough to share her sneak peek review on her wonderful blog: http://SelfHelpByMarilyn.wordpress.com & gave me the OK to share it here with all of you. As authors, a constant challenge is getting our readers to come back after reading our books and leave us a review. So when they do, we SO greatly appreciate them. So Cheri is one step ahead of the game with her new book series with this special sneak peek Review …

The Night Shadow

From the first page, The Night Shadow grabs you with instant fascination, as a serial killer’s work pulls you into this journey of intrigue, adding surprise at every turn. Just when you think you’ve solved the mystery, the author cleverly throws another curve. The story is rife with psychological elements, putting you inside each character’s mind, the motives for suspicious behaviors, misinformation, and murder. As the journey progresses, characters change their masks. Good? Bad? Innocent? Guilty? Suspense rises. And the story takes on new tones along the way.
The road to discovery is traveled by two private investigators, former police officers, pursuing the crafty and illusive killer. Esther and Mac are in their familiar realm of activity, but now with more latitude to cut corners and surpass accepted methods of pursuit. They encounter many clues, lies, and dead ends, but are driven by any means to expose the devious killer and stop the seemingly senseless murders. As they attempt to unravel the pieces, their romantic relationship struggles to survive, each with their own inner pain to deal with. Esther’s over-involvement with the case becomes a reflection of her personal inner turmoil brought to the surface, and plays an important part in the ongoing turn of events.
As the story unfolds, the author guides you from one character, one suspenseful event, one emotional experience to another ¾ and another r¾ and another, changing lives in the process. In places, the story seems to approach resolution, but then takes an unexpected turn, and the journey moves on. And everything might be a clue. But many clues are misleading, and you will finally be brought to a most astounding ending.

Special Thank You Messages from the Author:

Since embarking on my second career as an author, I’ve had the absolute delight to meet a number of wonderful people who have followed my offerings on my website, and those of you who have read my books. However, there are some I haven’t had the pleasure to correspond with, like Viviane Crystal who wrote this lovely review. I want to remedy that here.

Writing is a tough business, and, upon many occasions, it’s frustrating. It eats away your time with your loved ones, and ideas attack when you least expect it, often keeping you up until the wee hours of the morning wrestling with them. It can even cause great anxiety when new books are released. Will it be rejected by the reading public? Or, will it be well received? If your ego is the size of a mustard seed, it never seems to grow into that huge bush the scripture so aptly discusses about faith, so you are constantly surprised when someone actually likes your work. And it is right that it doesn’t grow into a huge gnarled mess, annoying your family members, friends, and the reading public with its outlandish posturing. Egos should rightly remain the size of a pea or less.

With that in mind, I am surprised, and astonished quite a lot. Ms. Crystal liked my work. So did the reviewers on Amazon. It’s a lovely surprise, and one that I constantly feel I must live up to as I continue to write. And I hope that I die before I stop being surprised, and that I continue to work even harder to deserve such praise.
Thank you, Ms. Crystal. Thank you, Amazon reviewers. You are the best.

My new mystery, The Night Shadow, is about to be released. I have had the great pleasure to offer it for a preview to a select few. Ms. Marilyn Fowler was given an advanced PDF of my novel a few weeks ago. Not only did Ms. Fowler read it, but she gave it a beautiful review. It never ceases to amaze me when people like my work, but when they say such incredible things about the words I’ve agonized over for months, I start to sob.
Yes, I’m a huge sober. I cry when my publisher says she loves my work. I shed copious tears when the art department of my publishing house understands my stories so well they create remarkable covers. I tear-up when I read the Press Release. You can imagine how I’m reduced to a puddle when I receive a review, especially one like Ms. Fowler wrote.Yes, I’m a puddle, Ms. Fowler. And every time I thought about it, I sobbed. Thank you. You’ve made my day, my year, my life. Bless you my new friend! ~ *Cheri*
