What a week it has been for me and my little side venture of book and social media promoting!
Well it has grown. Not complaining of course, but its only little old me running this show. . .LOL.
Awesome news this week! I have gained 2 new friends who are fantastic action/suspense/thriller writers, and they both have new books and novel series that just released on Amazon.com books. . .

Now the hardest part, and the most time-consuming is setting up all my clients social media accounts so readers can connect with the fine authors I have the honor of promoting. We are a like a family of friends and authors helping each other share our craft as writers to give readers books they will enjoy reading, and to give visitors here many choices of genres to pick from. Now I realize I’m just a “little fish” in the book promotions area? But what I do try to pride myself on is the Excellent Client Service I offer all my clients. They know I’m only a phone call or email away if they need help or have questions. And as Author, Vinnie Sorce said in his blog post I shared previous to this post?

I do try to be affordable for authors. So I try to keep my costs “insanely low” as Vinnie said. LOL. Now with that said, am I perfect? NO. Do I make a mistake here or there? Sometimes, but my clients know I am efficient at correcting any they may find, or if they don’t like when adding content to their sites. I never take things personal. There always need to be room for corrective advice in order to be ‘The Best’ at what I do and provide.

But here is what sets me apart from many other Book Promoting offerings and sites out there. I try to also teach my clients how to book promote along the way, ( If they want to learn). The reasons? Well first, there are many new and first time authors who need help and direction in how to book promote. I am an author myself, I was also promised that my book would be promoted by my publishing company, but if you don’t ‘GET IT IN WRITING’ as part of your publishing agreement or contract? You won’t get any.  Your lucky if your provided a Press Release to use for promoting your book.

Now I’m not downing publishers, but there are a lot of disillusioned first time authors out there holding the bag on doing their own book promoting. So I try to teach them the Why’s and How’s of  book promoting. Lets face it, many writers and authors hire me so they have the comfort of knowing someone is out promoting while they continue to write, live life, or just have 2 people promoting, which is always better than ONE. And if you have been a published author of many books? Than you know the tireless hours you need to put in to promote ones book. It sure does not happen over night! It takes time to build a readership and following, and that is why I promote through out social media and list my clients books on the abundant free book promo sites I can find.

Now I’ very aware of all the different types and ways of book promotions in the book promo market. That is why I continue to research all the time on low-cost or free book sites I can list my clients books. Many times you get a nice bio profile to share and more. I’m always passing on tips, articles, sites and more to my clients each week. You have to be willing to try anything in this market of book promotions to find what gets GOOD results. And I’m not hesitant to try something new at least once! LOL. That’s the name of the game “-)

Facebook and Twitter have been a wealth of information (and scams) for book and author promotion and advertising.  I’ve been lucky enough to find a person I trust, who also happens to live in AZ. She will promote me, and the book, for three months for an insanely reasonable fee. And I say reasonable, with the fact that I’ve worked about 3 1/2 days in the last four weeks, between the surgery and work being slow, and I still jumped at it.

The reason I trust her is, she started promoting me before she even sent me a quote. She will work all my social media accounts and add some. She’ll promote on her web site, all groups she is associated with and more. I get the feeling that when the paperback is ready, she’d be willing to stand on street corners trying to sell to…

Ok authors, this special spotlight re-share blog post is all yours!

Now one of my pet peeves, and now obviously I’m not the only one who complains, about the topic of using blog post TAGS. My good friend OM also seems to be agitated about this topic as well. So when I read his blog post today, I dropped everything to come share his post here on my book promotions blog.

WHY?

Because I tell many of my author clients who also blog and by way of me twisting their arms to do so, that we need to make sure you use tags so readers and other bloggers will be able to see your posts.
Now I think that OM has done a fine job in his post about driving this point home, Because we all know he is really good at doing this in his own special, sweet and polite way right?

But? “We Gotta Love Him!” And many do! Her we go!

You all still suck at tagging

As much as I browse WordPress if I don’t see your posts at least once during the day there is an issue. Most of you still suck at tagging. We all know the general rules. No more than 15 tags or categories per post right?  So what is the issue? Why are people still failing at tagging their posts?

The reason tagging is so important is because it not only helps promote visibility for a post it actually IS how a post is seen by WordPress readers. If you are publishing with half assed tags and effort you are basically saying “I spent all this time writing this gem of a post, but I could give a shit less if people see it or not.” That is what you are saying. You that suck at tagging.

What are people not getting?

*There you go! Well said. On a side note, I did learn something about WordPress and SEO that I didn’t know. Tags on blogs here on WP are very important as WP.com does not have the same SEO as WP.org or if you pay for a domain name. So it is a must to use tags and categories if you host on WP.com*
